Software engineer with a hardware foundation.
I build and ship production web, desktop, and native Apple applications, and design and release iOS, watchOS, and macOS products under my own studio, Stokes Labs. Equally comfortable tracing a defect on an oscilloscope and shipping the software that drives the hardware.

01 - Selected work
Native Apple apps and developer tooling, built end to end under Stokes Labs LLC - design, architecture, code, and release.
Watch-first habit tracker for iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac. Swift and SwiftUI across three targets, with cross-device sync built on CloudKit's CKSyncEngine - no backend server to run, no account to create. Designed, built, and prepared for App Store release solo.


Recovery-adaptive running coach for iOS. Swift and SwiftUI, fully on-device, integrating HealthKit workout and recovery data to adapt coaching to how the body is actually doing.

TypeScript agent-orchestration harness. Pluggable CLI engines, structured event streaming, OS-level process sandboxing, and a version-control substrate built on jj.


Studio and product support site for Stokes Labs. Static and zero-dependency - no framework, no build step - deployed on Vercel.

Find beers and breweries nearby; save favorites with an account. Vue front-end on AWS S3, Java back-end on EC2.

Most software engineers stop at the connector. At Goldfinger - an industrial touchscreen manufacturer - the debugging continues onto the board itself.
Root cause · oscilloscope
Diagnosed a power back-feed defect across 130 DRAX GPC boards via oscilloscope analysis; traced the back-feeding through the ULN2803 and specified a diode fix on the 12V rail, driving production rework.
Regulatory · spectrum analyzer
Led FCC compliance testing on AD boards with a spectrum analyzer, validating emissions mitigation through to regulatory pass.
Software → hardware
Designed and built the customer-facing LED Controller web application, letting customers configure GF LED controllers and save and load profiles across multiple units.
Separately, delivered a firmware customization for the company's largest customer by independently learning the firmware architecture - zero follow-up issues reported.

03 - Experience
Industrial touchscreen manufacturer
Independent product studio - the work in Selected work above: Cleat, Tack, Fighter Pilot, and stokeslabs.dev, each designed and built solo.
14-week, 800+ hour immersive program in Java web development. Completed all modules on time with 100% accuracy and produced two full-stack team applications.
